Don’t you just love sunsets? I sure do, they are so peaceful and magical. Right before your eyes you watch this beautiful sky go through a filter of colours and hues to end in darkness. I just love to watch the sunset on the beach as the sun goes down into the water.
There is something very calming about watching a sunset. Sunset is also known as the golden hour. My favourite time to take photos. This strong but soft golden light is so beautiful in photos! Have you done a photoshoot at sunset? If you haven’t I highly recommend you give it a try!
Whenever my family would go on vacation we always made time to see the sunset wherever we were. As a result we have some great photo memories of beautiful sunsets. Most of them are on the beach! I also think it is super fun to play with making silhouettes with the setting sun in photos! Of course there is the classic photo fun with placing yourself to look like you are holding the sun or pushing it down. Those are always fun to play around with and be creative.
Many people find relaxation and peace when watching a sunset. It helps your body to take these special moments and enjoy the beauty that earth gives us. In July, Vancouver hosts a festival of light. Different countries participate in a fireworks display and competition. This year had 3 evenings of display and it is a different country each night, Australia, USA and Netherlands competed this year. What makes this event so unique is that it is the largest outdoor fireworks festival that the fireworks are launched for a barge on the water!
The event is wonderful the best viewing area and the festival taking place in English Bay, Vancouver. There are amazing food trucks and the beach is open for seating. We got there early so we got great food and a great spot on the beach. With the Honda barge right out in front of us on the water we sat and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. That was such a special evening that reminds me how wonderful a sunset can make you feel!
Enjoy some pictures I dug up from my family vacations over the years!
