Dorm Room Trolley Display Organization

Oh my goodness you guys!! It is my first day of school! I already know this week is going to be so insane I am already looking forward to Friday. As I am back in my lovely dorm now I wanted to share with you another tip that I love to use. A dorm room trolley cart! This is such a fun way to display your favourite things and use great storage!

Dorm room Trolley Cart

I have three ways you can use the trolley cart in your dorm room. You can get a wide variety of carts, styles, colours and sizes. I got mine from ikea and it was shown to be used in a kitchen but I think it works perfect for a dorm room. The great thing is that if you get one on wheels you can move it around with the space you have.

Accessories Cart

The first style, I have seen done many ways on Pinterest. I think this is a really great way to have all your makeup, hair, and accessories mobile to go wherever you need. I chose to have makeup on the top tier, jewelry and accessories on the middle tier and the hair product and tools on the bottom. I recommend keeping your hair products on the bottom incase a spill ever happens. You don’t want to ruin your makeup or jewelry in a spill.

Media Cart

I feel like in university we have a lot of devices, charging cords, and cases it all gets misplaced. I know I always misplace my charging cords or memory cards. Having a cart that you will see helps remind you to use your things and also see where they are. I liked to put all the cables and cords on the bottom to keep them a bit more out of sight. Others things like cases, laptops, tablets, headphones, and kindles can go on the top two tiers. Organize it however you like.

Tea or Coffee Cart

If you read my amazing dorm room post then you probably saw my tea cart. I am obsessed with tea. I had come up with the idea to have a tea cart in my room. My room was very small last year so having the cart roll where I needed was a life saver. I have a small white Keurig at school I have linked it below for you. It was so helpful to have. I stored all my tea on the second tier and my cups on the bottom. It was a great cart to have!

What is your favourite way to style the trolley cart? I am wishing you all a wonderful week! Wish me luck getting back into the swing of classes and lots of homework!

I love the teal one! But of course they were sold out of all but grey when I needed to get mine, I can always spray paint the colour to something different but it works for now!

I find these movable trolleys to be really really useful when it comes to doing my makeup. As my makeup table is nowhere near the light, I often have to move the mirror and a huge load of my makeup to the window. With this trolley, I can just drag all of them across the room! Plus, the fact that they are movable means u can move them into any empty space. However you just have to be sure not to forget where you “abandon” them

Such a fun way to repurpose a cart for many different lifestyles! I have a similar cart from ikea, I spray painted the hardware gold and styled it as a bar cart! Super affordable and you can hardly tell it’s not one of those $300+ from Crate and Barrel or Restoration Hardware!

Dorm rooms are small by nature and the limited space makes it difficult to get enough storage, to have a comfortable and inviting ambiance and to also manage to add small little touches that personalize the space.

In a tiny dorm room, you have to save as much space as possible so an over the door shoe storage system seems like a wonderful option.
