I rely on corrective lenses, in grade 4 (age 9) I got my first pair of glasses. I got contacts in grade 7 but never wore them until I started high school in grade 8. My beautiful Mother has worn glasses since she was a young girl like me. She never got the wonderful experience that I had with glasses. Limited styles and wearing glasses wasn’t cool when she was in school. It makes me sad to even think about it. I was lucky that wearing glasses wasn’t a big deal and no one at my school got bullied for wearing glasses and being able to see clearly.
Here we are almost 11 years later and I love my glasses, my Mom has multiple pairs that she wears and she is so stylish with them. Now my prescription is fairly bad I can’t see without my glasses or contacts, I really can’t everything is very fuzzy. So I need corrective lenses in order to do anything. Well everything except sleep 😉
Buying glasses can be hard, finding the right shape, colour, size, length, style and knowing if your prescription can fit into that type of frame. My Mom can be limited because she has tri-focals. I only have one prescription so it is easier for me. I have leaned towards larger frames and a rounded rectangle.
When I started looking on clearly I was a little bit nervous. Buying glasses in person can be hard, now trying to find a pair online without trying them on. But I was pleasantly surprised with the experience.
A wonderful thank you to my favourite photographer Brooklyn, I seriously can’t imagine what life would be like without having her in it!
On the clearly website you can use My Fit, put the measurements of your current glasses in to see what pairs will fit your face. When you click on a style they have photos of the glasses on people and that gives you a really good idea of how it looks on the face. I find it is best if you at least know what shape looks best on you first. So I know that larger frames look good on me and I know that I can handle a rounded shape but I like keeping some what of a rectangle shape.
I decided on the Katerina frames from Kam Dhillon, now I look at them and they are pretty different from frames I have had in the past, but I LOVE THEM! I have always gotten deep or dark coloured frames but this time I went for a blush nude. I can’t say I wasn’t nervous but oh my goodness I was so happy when I tried them on.
I chose to get the Kodak Blue Reflect for digital screens lenses. You also have to option of regular clear lenses, transition lenses, and sunglasses for prescriptions. I have never had the blue reflect lenses, but I am working on a computer 90% on my waking hours so I thought this would be great to take some of the hard rays and stress off my eyes. I have really loved wearing them and I do find that the screens are not as harsh when I am looking at them for long periods.
Clearly has not only helped me see clearly, but it also clearly made the process of buying glasses as clear as day! I have never had an experience as great as that. Not to mention I received my glasses so quickly! When I use to order from my eye doctor it would take weeks for them to come in. I had these in 1 week, from ordering to putting them on my face. Now please note that may be different for each person depending on postal services!
Have you ever ordered glasses online? Would you consider getting your next frames and/or lenses from clearly? I can honestly tell you I was blown away with the simple process and the amazing quality I got!
Wishing you all a wonderful day <3
