With lots of holiday celebrations coming up you will probably be heading to someone’s house to enjoy dinner! One thing my Mom always taught me was to show up with a hostess gift. There are so many options on what you could bring so I thought in preparation for the busy season ahead why not inspire you with ideas for the perfect hostess gift!
There are your classic gifts like flowers or a card, chocolates. While those are still lovely gifts and show that you appreciate their hospitality, I think what I have today will help step it up a notch and not break the bank. I started with the base of this gift and that is a Sterling Vintner’s Collection wine; I bought a Merlot and a Chardonnay to use for my hostess gifts. I chose this wine because Sterling Vintner’s offers a great varietal that is made to be given and it is Always polished, never dull.
Next I decided to go for something sweet a little treat for the host or hostess to enjoy after everyone has gone home. I went for chocolates but you could do cookies, candy, or any treat you know they would like! I brought a black mini bucket to place those in and for nice presentation when I get to the party!
If you want to go basic and budget friendly then stop there and you are looking golden! But I decided for those really special hosts why not add one more thing. I love candles and so do all of my friends. A beautiful candle added will allow your host to relax, light the candle, have a treat and a nice glass of wine, what could be better! I found this mini clay house candle that would be perfect to give.
To package this all up, grab a wine bag or get creative and wrap it up, fill the bucket with the candle and chocolates and you can carry separately or put the bucket handle over the neck of the wine bottle. Don’t forget to sign a little card to say thank you because we all know it can be a but crazy for the host when everyone arrives.
I hope this gives you a formula to give the best host and hostess gifts this year, it takes a lot to host a group of people in your home so never arrive empty handed. I would recommend really focusing on having a great wine and Sterling Vintner’s Collection wine is the perfect label to add to this gift. Remember this is a great gift base and then you can add ribbon or other packaging to it for whatever occasion! I added a bow and a different card to fit for the holidays!
