Living in the PNW we can’t control the weather and we get a lot of grey rainy days. The amount of rain causes many people to struggle with seasonal depression disorder. One thing my Mom always taught me to combat the grey weather by wearing my weather. Confused by what I mean? Don’t worry I will explain everything!
Wearing your weather means you wear colours, and shades that represent how you want to feel. So when the skies are grey and sad, you could wear bright colours or shades to be happy and bright. Now you could wear black and be down, but the whole idea behind this is to boost your mood by wearing outfits that will brighten up your day and maybe even make someone else smile. My mom has a cardigan that is very colourful, and she wears it a lot when we are in dark grey weather. Every time she wears it someone in her office tells her that their mood got better because she was so bright and happy. My Mom is living proof that wearing your weather works!
This outfit feels more spring and summer, but for fall it is how I will stay happy and bright. It works for fall, and with a great jacket I am set. But the focus is to wear lighter bright outfits to combat the grey skies outside.
This beautiful striped blouse has become one of my all time favourite pieces. I wore it while I was shooting a wedding and got so many compliments! My mom tried it on and she also loved it! She ended up ordering a few tops one that is the same as my White blouse you can see here and a few others that I might have to borrow!
Thank you Brooklyn for these stunning photos!! Ahh these might be some of my favourites from that day! If you are ever travelling to Vancouver be sure to message her she is amazing to work with!
I hope you all have an amazing weekend and maybe try wearing your wether next time the skies are grey! I promise if you open your mind to it you will see a difference.
