A Winter Wonderland At Sea To Sky Gondola

Last week Justin and I went up to Squamish BC and experienced the Sea to Sky Gondola. This is a very popular destination in the summer but I was told that their winter season isn’t as busy! I can’t imagine why! It really is a magical wonderland up at the top and the experience from when you pull in to when you drive away was incredible! Justin and I wanted to share our favourite moments with you today!

On December 1st the Spirit of Christmas opens at Sea to Sky Gondola, this beautiful mountain top is transformed into a wonderland full of snow and holiday activities! From snowshoeing and tubing to story time with Santa and holiday sing alongs there is fun to be had for all.

Your adventure starts with an amazing Gondola ride it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the top, the gondolas are smaller and cozy set with blankets inside if you wish to curl up. Justin and I had our own gondola and it was just breathtaking and thats coming from two people who have grown up looking at these views.

At the top there is a Chalet, multiple viewing platforms, a suspension bridge and many beautiful trails to explore. This is also a hub for the real adventure lovers to head out back country skiing and out to some trails and areas for experienced climbers, and hikers.

The view points are just beautiful and the view was amazing, we had such a clear day we got the see everything! We met a really wonderful couple and their little girl on the gondola ride up. They shared some stories about the legends of the mountains in the areas and also told us their favourite things about the mountain top. It was a great way to start off our day hearing from some regulars of the mountain.

Justin and I hadn’t planned to go snowshoeing and lucky for us some of the trails right off the viewpoints were packed down so you could casually walk them and enjoy the beautiful spirit of Christmas theme on the trail. Around each corner was something new and beautiful all adding to the amazing environment we were in.

This day was absolutely magical. We certainly are not used to the -14 degree weather up there but we were bundled up warm and lucky for us the beautiful chalet was warm and cozy to go grab a bite to eat and look at the beautiful views from the floor to ceiling windows. The holiday decor inside just made you feel at home it was lovely.

This was an amazing way to spend the day and enjoy the beauty we live in. This is the first post here on the blog of J & S Adventure (I mentioned this segment awhile back). Justin and I love to adventure together and we can’t wait to share more with you! We have a few awesome adventures from the summer but we will wait until all this snow is gone and it warms up a bit to share those!

I certainly hope you will take some time to visit Sea to Sky Gondola if you are in the area it really is a magical place any time of year. To show you a bit more we even created a little video for you to see from our perspective! Enjoy!
