We have covered how to dress for a casual holiday party. If you missed that check it out here. Now I am going to focus on semi-formal holiday wear. The great thing about the outfit I have put together is that this could be a semi-formal outfit all year round! That always makes me excited, instead of sticking with holiday colours this goes for a more modern take on colour tones.
When it comes to semi-formal attire I prefer to go for a skirt or dress, this makes it much easier to put something together especially if you are doing this last minute. Of course one day I would love to have a stylish pant suit in my closet that I would pull for these occasions but for now, I’m sticking with skirts and dresses.
A long skirt is something elegant and can be quite comfortable if you style it right. I saw this soft pink skirt and just knew this was going to be something I could wear in all seasons and feel fabulous. A skirt like this is perfect to wear because the waistband isn’t too tight and its very comfortable to sit, stand, and eat in!
The hardest part for me was actually pairing a blouse with this. I was trying so many different things and I just wasn’t loving anything. Then I found this lace 3/4 sleeve blouse (similar) and knew thats exactly what I needed, I always love when I find an item from years ago and bring it new life. With a long skirt and being in winter I felt I needed a sleeve to balance the look and also not feel like I’m dressing for spring.
What I got really excited about with this skirt was the versatility of shoes. Leaning towards a formal look or if you need some height, heels are fabulous! But a elegant pair of flats would look just as gorgeous! I am on the taller side so flats would certainly be an option for me. Add in some beautiful jewelry and you are all set to go!
A lovely thank you to Brooklyn D Photography who took these stunning photos! She really is one amazing lady! Jasmine Hoffman did my makeup and seriously she makes everyone feel like a queen! And thank you Krista for doing my hair!
